INTRODUCTION
Located
at a height of 2000 meters, this picturesque hill resort was set
up during the days of the "Raj". It's treks and walks
down the famous Camel Back Road welcome visitors in the summer and
in the winter. You can trek through the hills and jump over little
hills, streams and flowers in the valley and proceed for rock climbing
or mountaineering if you wish.
PLACES TO VISIT
Kempty Falls
15km away on the Yamunotri Road are the biggest and prettiest falls
in this area.
Gun Hill
The second highest peak in Mussoorie is connected by a ropeway troly
to the Mall. There is an excellent view of Mussoorie and the Doon
Valley from Gun Hill. The high Himalayas spread like a panorama
to the north. An eating, shopping and portrait complex on the top
has telescopes to view various peaks, and a glittering wardrobe
of costumes displayed by photographers.
Lal Tibba
The highest peak in Mussoorie. An excellent trek, 4km from Picture
Palace.
HOW TO GET THERE
Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, 60 km from Mussoorie.
Rail: Dehradun 34 km is the nearest railhead.
Road: Mussoorie is connected to Dehradun, Which, in turn,
is connected to all major cities.
