Arunachal Pradesh, a serene land tucked into the North Eastern
tip of India, invites you to relax in its picturesque hills and
dales, enjoy its salubrious climate and meet its simple and hospitable
people, with their glorious heritage of arts and crafts and colourful
festivals that reflect their ancient faith in the inexorable power
of nature. Bhutan, China and Myanmar surround Arunachal Pradesh,
on three sides. It stretches from snow - capped mountains in the
north to the plains of the Brahmaputra valley in the south. It is
the largest state area - wise in the north - eat region, even larger
than Assam, which is the most populous. The land is mostly mountainous
with the Himalayan range along the northern borders cris - crossed
with ranges running north - south.
Places to see
Akashiganga : Akashiganga in East Siang district is believed
to be associated with the legend of Parvati narrated in the 8th
century kalika Purana. The place provides a magnificient bird's
eye view of the Brahmaputra glimmering far below.
Malnithan : Relics of stone, ruins of temples, valuable
sculptures have been excavated from Malinthan.
The
Tawang Monastery : Covering the peak of a hillock at a height
of about 10,000 feet above sea level the monastery about 350 years
old, is the largest of its kind in the country and controls 17 gompas
in the region.
Parasuramkund : Parasuramkund is a place of great sanctity
located in the lower reaches of north Tezu in Lohit district which
attracts pilgrims from all over India for a dip in the kund during
Makar - Sakranti.
Bhismaknagar : It is situated in Dibang Valley District,
at the foot of the mountains about 24 miles north of Sadiya between
the Dikrong and the Dibang rivers.
Itafort : Itanagar, the name of the capital city of Arunachal
Pradesh is derived fom his historical fort called Itafort, situated
in the heart of the capital complex in Papum Pare District.
Namdapha
National Park : It's a few kilometres away from Miao in Changlang
district. For the truly dedicated wilderness and wildlife fan, a
visit to this park is challenging, covering a wide range of altitudes
from 200 mtrs to 4,500 mtrs.
Gekar Sinyi ( Ganga Lake) : Ganga Lake is situated in the
foothills of the Himalayas is a unique part of the capital, Itanagar.
Talley Valley : Tale in Apatani dialect is the name of a
plant and to many other tribes the means paradise. Talley Valley
is 30 km from Hapoli the densely populated township in the Apatani
Plateau.

There are four main tourist travel circuits namely (a) Tezpur -
Bhalukpong - Bomdila - Tawang (b) Tinsukia - Tezu - Parsuramkund
(c) Margherita - Miao - Namdapha (d) Itanagar - Ziro - Daporijo
- Along - Pashighat.
